What is the address?

What time does the kitchen open?

12pm – 3:30pm (lunch menu)
3:30pm – 5pm (pizza and snacks only)
5pm (dinner menu)

Is there wheelchair access to Upstairs Beresford?



Is there a smoking area within the venue?

Yes, there is a dedicated smoking area in the courtyard and on the outdoor terrace at Upstairs Beresford.


Are minors allowed?

Yes, until 10pm on the ground floor and until 9pm upstairs.
Minors must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.


Do you have high chairs available?



Can I BYO?

No, BYO Is not permitted.


Is there a bottleshop at the Beresford?

No, however El Loco Excelsior on nearby Foveaux St does have takeaway alcohol until 11pm.


Is there a gaming room?

Yes, there is a small gaming room next to the front bar.


Will there be entertainment?

DJs play Upstairs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and we have movie night every Monday.
Every Sunday we host Beresford Sundays, an inclusive queer-friendly “Sunday Session” with some of Sydney’s best DJs on rotation from 3pm.
We’ve always got something happening, so keep an eye on our What’s On page for upcoming events.


Does the venue turn into a nightclub?

Upstairs Beresford operates at a nightclub on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
There is no cover charge.


Is there lockout?

No, however on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights entry is refused to all guests at 12.45am as the venue closes 1am.


What is the style of music?

Fun! Think Top 40, House and RnB.


Can I bring a dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome in the courtyard, but they must be on a leash.


I have guests with allergies, will they be accommodated?

Our menu contains allergens and is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, shellfish and gluten. Whilst all reasonable efforts are taken to accommodate guest dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that our food will be allergen free.


Where do I order on the day?

Table service is not available at the Beresford. Please order at the bar and the food will be brought out to you.


What is the dress code?

Casual, but come as you please (just no beachwear).


What’s the delivery address?

Can I bring my own food?

No, although birthday cakes and cupcakes are allowed for celebrations.

Group Bar Booking FAQ’s

Can I make a Group Booking downstairs?

Yes. You can make a Group Bar Booking downstairs. This will be a casual reserved area within the bistro or courtyard. Seating is allocated as a mixture of sitting and standing, best suited for a casual drinks and nibbles style of event. We don’t rope off areas exclusively or allocate a seat for every guest.


Are deposits required to book downstairs? Is there a minimum spend?

No deposit is required and there is no minimum spend.


Can I book one of the booths upstairs?

Yes, we reserve booths for groups of 20 -30 guests and the cocktail lounge is also available to book either exclusively (minimum spends apply) or non-exclusively.


Does it cost to book a booth upstairs?

No, but we do require credit card details which are charged in the event of a cancellation inside of 48 hours or no show.


If I have a Group Booking, what do I do on arrival?

On arrival, please see one of our friendly bar staff, who will accompany you to your reserved area.


If I have a Group Booking, what happens if I arrive early?

If your reserved area is free, you’re welcome to use the area earlier. Otherwise, our staff will do our best to find you a suitable alternative until the dedicated space becomes free at your booked time.


What if I am running late for my reservation?

It is important to let us know if you are running late, as your table may be booked for another reservation after your seating. Please call us to advise delay; otherwise we will hold the table for a period of 15 minutes.


If I have a Lunch Group Booking, what happens when my booking time finishes?

The space may be required for another booking in the evening, however you’re more than welcome to continue to enjoy the venue. Please speak to the staff on the day about arranging an alternative area.


If I have a Group Booking, will all of my guests have a seat?

No. Seating is allocated as a mixture of sitting and standing.


Can I bring decorations?

Hanging decorations, balloons and streamers are not permitted. Please speak with your Bookings Coordinator if you have any more questions.


Is there AV equipment for speeches?

We don’t have A/V available, but we think an old-fashioned cheers is just as good.


Can I bring a cake?

Yes, and no cakeage charge applies.


How do I cancel a Group Booking?

Can we pre-order food or beverages?

Yes! We encourage bookings to pre-order food and beverage in advance. We have a range of packages to suit all occasions, please speak with your bookings coordinator to discuss options. Please note, 3 days’ notice and full pre-payment is required.


Can I drop off items for my party in advance?

You are welcome to deliver items in advance of your event but please confirm delivery date and drop off details with your Bookings Coordinator first. Deliveries are not permitted any more than 1 day in advance and we ask that everything you send is clearly labeled.


What happens if it rains?

If you have requested a space in the courtyard, we will do our best to find you a great space indoors.
