What is the address?

Ivy Complex, 330 George St Sydney NSW, Australia.

 

Where can I park?

Located at 330 George Street, there are various Secure Parking stations close to the venue. Receive 10% off parking when you book or purchase a ticket with Merivale. Find out more here: https://merivale.com/secureparking

 

Dress code?

The dress code in our bar and nightclubs is smart casual. Generally speaking, thongs and singlets should be avoided, but please note that all guest entry to our venues is subject to the discretion of our management and security teams.

 

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes.

 

Is there a smoking area within the venue?

Yes, on Level 2.

 

Are minors allowed?

Yes, minors must be accompanied by their own parent or guardian at all times.

 

Is there public transport access?

By train, the closest station is Wynyard Station. Take the George Street exit, turn right and cross the street at the pedestrian lights. Palings Lane is between Bailey Nelson and Peter Alexander stores.

 

Does the venue turn into a nightclub?

Only on selected nights.
THURSDAY – Unofficial backpackers night with DJ’s playing in Main Room and Pool Club.
FRIDAY – RnB Fridays with DJ’s playing in Main Room and Pool Club.
SATURDAY – Ministry of Sound Club with DJ’s playing in Main Room and Pool Club.
Cover charges may apply.

 

Is there lockout?

Yes, 1:30am.

 

What is the style of music?

Depending on the night of the week, the style of music is generally a mixture of house, dance, RnB, and Top 40/commercial hits.

 

What are the kitchen close times?

10pm.

 

Does Palings show sporting matches?

Palings will show major sporting events on their big screen, but does not show sports on a regular basis.

 

Is there a bottle shop or can I take away?

The Bottle Shop is next door. We do not sell anything to take away from Palings

 

Do you accept walk-ins?

Palings always has lots of space that we keep available especially for walk-ins. We are a very popular venue, so we always recommend arriving earlier and allowing some extra time to avoid disappointment.

 

I have guests with allergies, will they be accommodated?

Our menu contains allergens and is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, shellfish and gluten. Whilst all reasonable efforts are taken to accommodate guest dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that our food will be allergen free.

 

Can I bring a cake?

Yes. However, a cakeage fee will be charged if you would like the cake to be cut up and served by our chefs. Alternatively, speak to your Bookings Coordinator about pre-ordering a Merivale cake from Lorraine’s Patisserie on Palings Lane.

 

Can we have speeches / A/V?

We don’t have A/V available, but we think an old-fashioned cheers is just as good.

 

Can I bring decorations?

Hanging decorations, balloons and streamers are not permitted, however speak to your Bookings Coordinator if you have further questions.

 

Is there a TAB, Pokies or Bottleshop?

No, however we do have The Bottle Shop located within the Ivy Complex on Palings Lane. A Royal Lounge (Tab and Pokies) is also located at The Royal George, also within the Ivy Complex.

 

What is the deliveries address?

Ivy loading dock is accessible via the Wilson Carpark at 123 Pitt St, Sydney.

Group Bar Booking FAQ’s

Can I make a booking? What type of bookings can be made?

Group Bar Bookings can be made within Palings Bar, Monday – Friday up until 6pm. A Group Bar Booking is a casual reserved area within the bar area of Palings. Seating is allocated as a mixture of sitting and standing, best suited for a casual drinks and nibbles style of event. We don’t rope off areas exclusively, or allocate a seat for every guest.
VIP Booths: We have a range of booths available for bottle service only on Friday nights from 8pm onwards (RnB Fridays) and Saturday nights from 9pm onwards (MOS). We unfortunately do not offer bottle service on other nights of the week.

 

Are deposits required to book? Is there a minimum spend?

Deposits and minimum spends apply to VIP Booths.

 

If I have a Booking, what do I do on arrival?

On Arrival please see one of our friendly bar staff or our host, who will accompany you to your reserved area.

 

If I have a Group Booking, what happens if I arrive early?

If your reserved area is free you’re welcome to use the area earlier. Otherwise, our staff will find you a suitable alternative until the dedicated space becomes free at your booked time.

 

What if I am running late for my booking?

It is important to let us know if you are running late, as your table may be booked for another reservation after your seating. Please call us to advise delay; otherwise we will hold the table for a period of 15 minutes.

 

How do I cancel a group bar reservation?

If you would like to change or cancel your reservation, please contact us on +61 2 9114 7305 or email groupbar.bookings@merivale.com.

 

Can we pre-order food or beverages?

Yes! We encourage bookings to pre-order food and beverage in advance. Please speak with your Bookings Coordinator to discuss options. Please note 3 days’ notice and full pre-payment is required.

 

What happens if it rains?

Don’t stress! All areas available to book within ivy are undercover.

Restaurant Reservations (Dining areas) FAQs

Do you offer Halal meat?

No.

 

What is the largest group that you can take?

We can book for up to 60 people in the restaurant at Palings.

 

What are the dining options for large groups?

For all groups of 12+ we require the group to dine of one of our set menus starting at $40.

 

Do you have a private dining room?

Palings does not have a private dining room. However, ivy has a few private dining options within the building, and est. in the Establishment complex has a beautiful private dining room.

 

Do you have a kids menu?

Palings does not have a specific kids menu, however, your waiter will be able to recommend something simple and delicious that kids will love.
