No, smoking is only permitted on the street outside.

Yes. All minors must be accompanied by their own parent or guardian

What is the style of Music?

Contemporary,lounge music.

 

BYO?

BYO is not permitted.

 

Public transport access?

Buses stop regularly outside on Oxford St.

 

What are the kitchen close times?

MON- THU: 12pm – 3pm / 6pm – 10.30pm
FRI – SAT: 12pm – 3pm / 5.30pm – 10.30pm
SUN :12pm – 3pm / 5.30pm – 9pm

 

I have guests with allergens, will they be accommodated?

Our menu contains allergens and is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, shellfish and gluten. Whilst all reasonable efforts are taken to accommodate guest dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that our food will be allergen free.

 

Can I bring a cake?

Yes. A cakeage fee will be charged if you would like the cake to be cut up and served by our chefs.

 

Can I bring decorations?

Yes, however Hanging decorations and streamers are not permitted.

 

Is there a TAB, Pokies or bottle shop?

No.

 

Do you have pool tables?

No.

 

Can I order takeaway?

No, however you can order from The Chicken Shop next to The Paddington.

Group Bar Booking FAQ’s

Can I make a Group booking? What is a Bar booking?

Yes. A Group Bar booking is a casual reserved area within the bar. Seating is allocated as a mixture of sitting and standing and is best suited for a casual drinks and nibbles style of event. We don’t rope off areas exclusively, or allocate a seat for every guest.

 

Are deposits required to book? Is there a minimum spend?

Depending on your group size, a deposit may be required to secure the space and this will act as a cancellation fee. If you are reserving an entire area exclusively, a minimum spend will be required and a 10% service charge will be added to your final bill.

 

How is my deposit used on the day?

Your deposit is redeemable on food and beverages.

 

If I have a Group Booking, what do I do on arrival?

On arrival, please see one of our friendly bar staff, who will accompany you to your reserved area.

 

If I have a Group Booking, what happens if I arrive early?

If your reserved area is free, you’re welcome to use it earlier. Otherwise, our staff will find you a suitable alternative until the dedicated space becomes free at your booked time.

 

What if I am running late for my booking?

It is important to let us know if you are running late, as your table may be booked for another reservation after your seating. Please call us to advise delay; otherwise we will hold the table for a period of 15 minutes.

 

If I have a lunch group booking, what happens when my booking time finishes?

Depending if there is an allocated booking in the evening, your group may be relocated to another suitable area.

 

If I have a Group Booking, what happens if I don’t use all my deposit?

Required deposits are non-refundable.

 

If I have a Group Booking, will all of my guests have a seat?

Not always. Seating is allocated as a mixture of sitting and standing.

 

How do I cancel a group bar reservation?

If you would like to change or cancel your reservation, please contact us on +61 2 9114 7364 or email groupbar.bookings@merivale.com.

 

Can we pre-order food or beverages?

Yes! We encourage bookings to pre-order food and beverage in advance. Please speak with your Bookings Coordinator to discuss options. Please note that 3 days notice and full pre-payment is required.

 

Can We have speeches or use A/V?

Unfortunately speeches are not permitted. We have a TV available at the end of the high table, which can be plugged into a laptop for informal meetings.

 

Where do I order on the day?

If you have paid for a dedicated host, you will have someone allocated to look after your group and take orders. For casual bookings with no paid host, you’re welcome to order from the bar.

Restaurant Reservations FAQs

Do you have a kids’ menu and are you child friendly?

Yes, we even include pictures on the menu and provide coloring pencils for their entertainment.

 

Do you have a private dining room?

Semi-private, yes. We have our wonderful High Table, which is situated away from the main restaurant and where we can seat up to 32 guests at the stunning marble high table. We are able to section this off to make it semi-exclusive, however you can also book exclusively with a lounge area for pre-drinks by speaking with our events team.

 

Do you show sport?

Yes, on request.

 

Can we access the full menu in the bar areas?

Yes, however it isn’t table service.

 

Do you offer Sunday Roast?

Not at this stage.

 

Do you offer halal meat?

No.
