The perfect balance of comfort and sophistication, old and new, with a dash of the unexpected.
Hotel Centennial is a Woollahra institution, and has been a favourite amongst the local community for decades. Sitting in a prime location opposite Centennial Parklands, the interiors are light-filled, relaxed and elegant, with an artfully curated mix of furniture and antiques, making it the perfect spot to settle in for a long lunch with friends.
Speaking of food, Danielle Alvarez and Ben Greeno’s love of local produce shines in their Mediterranean-influenced menu. Greeno, also executive chef at The Paddington, and Alvarez, head chef at Fred’s, share a passion for creating simple, elegant dishes.
The best way to begin your dining experience is with a cocktail at our beautiful front bar. Find a couch or take a seat at our high table and simply enjoy your surroundings. Next, head to our dining room and start with one of the wood-fired flatbreads (the tomato, garlic and parmigiano is a favourite) and then you must try the wood-oven squid or whole wood-fired flounder.
You’ll find the perfect wine to match thanks to the extensive list curated by Merivale’s Master Sommelier, Franck Moreau. From easy drinking favourites, to extra special drops, and even a section labelled ‘Interesting’, you’ll never go thirsty.
If there’s a group of you, why not make a reservation at our beautiful High Table in the front bar and enjoy a shared dining experience.
We hope to see you for lunch, dinner or a cocktail or two at our friendly neighbourhood restaurant soon.

For the months of August and September, Ben Greeno and Danielle Alvarez will be curating a series of regional French dinners at Hotel Centennial. Inspired by their love of local produce, these chefs have designed a short menu of provincial dishes, with matching wines paired by head sommelier Paul Huet.
