Merivale and Campari are transforming ivy, Sydney’s leading dining and cultural precinct, into a world of Campari for this year’s Campari Red Nights series. From 17 September to 12 October, Campari Red Nights will invite curious souls to step into the intriguing and creative world of Campari, inspired by its strong artistic heritage and the timeless art of drinking the versatile Italian aperitif.
Across four weeks, guests can embark on a journey through different venues in the ivy precinct, enjoying captivating and unique experiences that showcase the versatility of the aperitif and its distinctive bittersweet flavour, intense aroma and striking red colour, through a range of classic and bespoke drinks.
Campari Red Nights officially launches on Friday 21 September, inviting Sydneysiders to embark on a journey of discovery through the ivy precinct, starting on Ash Street and culminating at ivy’s Pool Club. Expect to experience the unexpected and uncover the curious and creative world of Campari through drinks, music, live street art, dancers and live performers.
From 5pm-late each Friday following, Pool Club will turn into a stylish and memorable Campari red-inspired Italian Riviera, with special Campari cocktails and drinks offers, food from Pool Club’s aperitivo and pizza menus, DJs and live entertainment. More exciting details will be revealed soon around the closing party, which will be held on Friday 12 October.
Throughout the month, Ash St. Cellar and Pool Club will feature the timeless ‘Campari Soda’ theatrically made in front of you at the bar with a specially designed Campari siphon, served over ice and garnished with a zesty orange wedge ($10). The perfect aperitivo drinking experience can be enjoyed alongside iconic cocktails like the ‘pineapple Americano’ ($15) with pineapple infused Campari, red Vermouth, and soda water; ‘Milano Sbagliato’ ($15) with Campari, mandarin juice, lemon juice, sugar syrup and prosecco; and the traditional ‘Negroni’ ($15) with equal parts Campari, Gin and red Vermouth. ivy’s hatted rooftop gem, uccello, and intimate, new Spanish hideaway, Bar Topa, will be serving classic premix Campari Sodas ($8), a first for the Australian market.
Campari Red Nights pays tribute to the rich history of the iconic aperitif which has had Italy’s passion, style and creativity in its DNA since 1860. The strong relationship between Campari and the artistic world has its origins at the beginning of the century, when Campari first began to establish itself as the quintessential aperitivo. Throughout the month, the ivy precinct will be adorned with vintage Campari posters and installations that will recount the story of Campari through modern and contemporary expressions of artistic works created by some of the most innovative creators of advertising art, including Futurist Fortunato Depero and Lenoetto Cappiello.
Now in its eleventh sensational year, ivy continues to set the benchmark for Sydney hospitality with its diverse portfolio of bars, hatted restaurants, event spaces and entertainment experiences.
