Is the room I have booked exclusive use for my event?
Are underage guests able to attend my event?
Yes, they must be accompanied by a parent/s or legal guardian and full details need to be provided to your event manager prior to the event. Under age guests will be given a wristband upon entry.
Can we provide our own Security guard?
No. A Merivale Security guard will be allocated to your event.
Is there natural light in the room?
Yes, in all event spaces.
What time can I access the venue?
You may access the venue 2 hours prior to your reception start time. This also applies to florists, theming and entertainment.
Is there an additional fee for early access?
Security guard fees will apply as listed in the proposal. There may also be room hire fees at certain times of the year.
Does the venue provide crew meals? How much does a crew meal cost?
Yes, at a charge of $50.00 per crew meal. This includes a 2 course meal plus beverages. Please advise your Wedding Planner in advance the number of crew meals required.
Does the venue provide children’s meals? How much does a child’s meal cost?
Yes. Children’s meals 5-12 years are $50.00 per 3 course meal.
Does the venue provide high chairs?
Yes we have high chairs available.
Where is the menu tasting held?
The menu tasting will be held in the venue you have chosen for your wedding reception (unless otherwise informed).
We would like to bring an additional person along to the tasting, how much does this cost?
$100.00 is charged for each additional person attending the menu tasting.
Do I need to advise the venue about vegetarian & other special dietary requirements?
Yes. Please indicate these guests on your wedding checklist, so we can adequately cater for their requirements.
Can we add antipasto platters to our menu?
Yes. The venue can supply additional platters for the guest tables. Please ask your Wedding Planner for pricing details.
Does the venue provide containers for left over wedding cake?
No. Your cake supplier needs to provide a suitable cake box.
Are we able to bring in our own spirits? Is there a corkage charge?
Yes, you may bring in your own spirits. A $20.00 per bottle corkage fee applies. The spirits will be served from back of house, no bottles are allowed on guest tables.
(Please note, responsible service of alcohol must be adhered to and the service of spirits to all guests is at the Manager’s discretion).
Are centrepieces included in our wedding package?
Square mirror bases and 4 tealights per table.
Round mirror bases and 5 tealights per table.
How do we make payment for the event?
A Merivale tax invoice will be forwarded to you for each scheduled payment. Payments may be made via Credit Card, EFT or Bank Cheque.
What furniture is available in the room?
Establishment Ballroom / Rooms I, II & III
Square banquet tables (that comfortably seat up to 8 guests), latte coloured chairs that do not require covers, white linen, cutlery, glassware, table numbers, cocktail tables and all of the existing ottomans & chaises in the rooms.

Seated: Round tables black chairs that do not require covers, black or white linen, crockery, glassware and table numbers.

Seated: Round tables (that comfortably seat up to 10 guests), black chairs that do not require covers, black or white linen, crockery, glassware and table numbers.

Is there a smoking area?
Ballroom, level 3 & est. smokers are able to use George Street.
Both the ivy ballroom & ivy sunroom have terraces available for smokers.
Smokers are able to use King / York Streets
What audio visual equipment is available at the venue?
In house lights are included with the room. For all other audio visual requirements please contact your Wedding Planner.
May I bring my own A/V equipment?
Is there a charge for this?
There is no charge for providing your own equipment. A charge for any venue access / bump in and bump out will apply. In ivy ballroom there may be a technician charge if you use the venues truss or screens.
Can my guests gain entry to other areas after the event?
Post event, we endeavour to accommodate your guests within our venue, however due to prior bookings or events, we cannot guarantee which venues will be available. If a person is deemed by Merivale staff to be approaching intoxication, the person or persons will be refused entry and asked to leave the premises. A cover charge of may apply in some areas.
Where is the loading dock?
1 Bridge Lane, Sydney
123 Pitt Street, Sydney (follow the signs to the ivy dock)
There is strictly no parking in the loading dock. You may unload, but the vehicle must be moved to the closest parking station.
Boutique style accommodation as well as 2 penthouse suites are available for hire. A special rate is available for guests booking events with Merivale. Breakfast is served each morning in the relaxing Gin Garden – A decadent continental, a la carte or room service breakfast is also available.

Is the ivy penthouse available for accommodation?
No. It is a cocktail party space only.
Is storage available at the venue for my leftover wedding items?
No. All items must be removed at the end of the wedding. Merivale takes no responsibility for any left over items.
Do suppliers need to collect all there items at the end of my wedding?
Yes. All items must be taken out of the event room/s at the end of your reception. Any items left will be disposed of as Merivale does not provide storage facilities.
Is the ivy Rolls Royce available for hire?
No. It is available only to take the bride and groom to establishment hotel at the conclusion of their wedding reception at ivy.
Is a microphone included in the package?
Yes. A lectern and microphone is included in all our wedding packages.
Do you have a dance floor?
Yes. We own a black dance floor which is included in your wedding package.
Do you provide an easel for our seating plan?
Yes we can.
